Who is Dan Rosenberg? (@DJRBliss)

Posted by in Uncategorized

Who is Dan Rosenberg? Not just any Dan Rosenberg, but DJRBLISS from Twitter. This guy is an animal doing what he is good at… finding exploits. Recently some of you who get the chance to read this have probably heard of him from his recent self-made-majority-a-charity bounty he has made for a Droid 4 Root Exploit. What is wrong for charging for work these days? So what if it is for a Linux based platform that runs on the Linux Kernel which is published under GPL. Does that mean anything that runs on an “open” platform (which Android is not fully open) should be considered and MADE open?

No.

As Dan states:

The first $200 (or less) goes to buying me a Droid 4. All money beyond that will be donated to the American Red Cross.

Wait a minute. Does that say Red Cross? I think it does. There is more to be said though, from my recollection this is the first time for all the hard work Dan has contributed to the self entitled, megalomaniac, narcissistic and probably ill informed individuals who like to root their devices so they can remain a power user. So why in the hell on this green and blue planet, would you bitch about a guy wanting a phone for himself to continue to find exploits to keep the device rooted on the latest firmware? Nonsense, that’s why. I dare, challenge and encourage you to look at this little list, probably a small fraction of exploits this guy has found here.

Some of you are absolutely clueless to what open source means. Do people understand what publishing under a select license is? Read this and tell me how this makes you feel about some of our neighbors in this Android Eco System.

.@TeamAndIRC im just saying android isnt about holding shit like that hostage. its called OPEN SOURCE, guess that doesnt mean shit anymore

-SOME GUY

Once again, do some research and you will find this “OPEN” project that is named after your favorite treats in alphabetical order, is not fully open in the least. This kind of attitude, and this sense of “I am on a soapbox I can say what I want” mentality is just plain immature. Get facts before you look like some clown that got rejected for employment at a charity balloon animal convention for special kids.

The guy knows his shit, does this for a living and yet some people find a self inflicted hole in the story and twist it to a nonsensical story of bullshit. Dan I apologize on behalf of a lot of good people and I hope you continue to do your work. If you continue to work on this project I will donate $50 and hopefully my part can be part of your phone. Thanks for all you do.

The rest of you who are guilty of not knowing… you should consider apologizing or cleaning up your twitbookspaces you live at.

Peace

So You Want To Make A Hackintosh.

Posted by in Tech

I am not a pro/aficionado/super_hacker or what you want to call it. I am a guy that needs the functionality of a UNIX based operating system and the power of industrial applications like Adobe Photoshop to work under one group. I am going to show off/tell you what worked best for me and what hardware. I hope you contain the courage it takes some to do this but in the end, it can be affordable (or expensive) to own a Mac machine without paying $3500+ just to get a machine you want for the right reasons.

WHY DO YOU USE MAC?

I am not a fan in Apple’s philosophy of closed source but I still like the reliability, functionality and overall fluidity of Lion. Plain and simple, where there is a will there is a way to make the perfect machine. Now the machine I own is not a “low end” machine, but I hate having to upgrade every week (it seems) just to get what I need to work. Mac OSX is notorious for getting the most out of the least.

WHAT HARDWARE ARE YOU USING?

I use reliable hardware. Even though you are trying to avoid paying the thousands of dollars for a Mac, you get what you pay for. The parts below are what I have and they ran me close to $1200, but go ahead and add the other $200 I wasted on trying to be cheap. Parts break or they just go out days after the warranty ends. Be frugal, but spend wisely.

Nothing “extravagant”. I will make a list for those asking that do not want to risk buying non functional hardware.

Motherboard: ($145) Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3 (LGA 1155) – Note: As of right now USB 3.0 is a no go.

CPU: ($330) Intel i7 2600k – Note: Don’t skimp, this CPU is very efficient.

RAM: ($80) Corsair XMS3 16GB DDR3 – Note: This is not high end but very reliable for 1333MHz RAM

SSD: ($140) Corsair Force 3 90Gb SATA III - Note: Be picky, and make sure that the Read/Write speeds are as close together as possible.

Graphics: ($160) Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 6850 - Note: You will need to use duckweed -v and GraphicsEnabler=no during initial boot until you use multi-beast to get graphics fully working.

Power Supply: ($70) Coolmax Modular 750W PSU - Note: Quiet and reliable. Blue LED.

COOLING:

($60) Antec Kuhler 620 Liquid cooler – Note: I love it. Quiet, efficient and cool looking.

($36) Cooler Master Blue Transparent 2-in-1 Pack 120mm Fans - Note: Stupid quiet and efficient. Try to keep CFM high and Db low. These are 19db fans.

($25) NZXT Touch Screen Fan Controller w/Temperature - Note: So awesome being able to tell me fans what to do. When compiling or running intense rendering, I know my fans got me covered.

($130) Antec ELEVEN HUNDRED – You need something like this to do two things.    Keep cables managed and keep the best parts cool.

OPTIONAL:

This is some “essential stuff” you may need, so let me point you in the right direction.

($15) Silverstone 5.25″ to 3.5″ adapter for internal use. – Note: Its the cleanest one I have seen, I have one and its HIGH quality.

($21) Sony Optiarc DVD-RW Drive - Note: Optical media is dead.

WiFi

($10) Mini PCI to Standard PCI Adapter – Note: This is needed for the BCM94321MC BCM4321 ($15-40) – Note: This is awesome, works out of box once assembled.

Overall I hope you enjoy this as much as I do and hope you find it in yourself to just get the computer you want. I use this mostly for work but so far I can run any game or software I can get my hands on with no problems. Games run at full settings. I am very proud of this machine. Thanks for reading.

Who’s the realist?

“What is his problem?” I hear it a lot. It is a conundrum I haven’t figured out yet, it is the equivalent of asking how many fucks I give. Some people say I have a look on my face that doesn’t cross as friendly, good, it should make you think hard before you say what you say because regardless of the stern look, I like to make things funny.

I am actually a pretty relaxed person, with all of the things I have learned in life starting at “we all disassemble like Legos” mentality to the “make the best impressions we can” outlook. I met  really cool people in the past couple weeks, one being at an event that goes by Jason W., I will leave his other information out due to his anonymity in my genre/group of people I affiliate with. The guy comes across as a crazy tripped out, off -the-wall kind of guy but is actually married and can carry an intelligent and coherent conversation.

The person who leaves the best and deepest impression on me is going to be my daughter, my daughter is the world to me and if anyone/thing/body were to ever try to disconnect that, well I feel bad for you. She makes me see things in a more positive light than I was ever able to before. Thanks kiddo, you make daddy proud.

Back to me, if you haven’t noticed by now, I have ADD. I like tangents, I go off on them as if they were an unexplored trail I haven’t yet covered. I am here to tell you who I am, just  guy with an idea to bring things to order and or order things in their proper sequence. My recent project turned awesome is RootzWiki.com. I had this idea to give developers phones without them needing them Paypal buttons so often on the forums. It has gone great and one of the best joys I get is to go to the post office and send out a phone.

One thing I don’t get to do too often is publicly thank and praise the guys involved behind the scenes, Bird, Corey, Eric, Rhett, Denham and the entire staff that has made all of this happen in such a short amount of time. Peeps, I love all of you, you are all the same as family to me. Keep doing what you are doing and you will get rewarded in good time.

Much more to come from me at a later time,
